9. Harvest Management
Significant advances have been made in recognizing the potential of well-managed grasses for silage, but on average the level of management is still not as high as with alfalfa [GIS-20]. Harvest management controls forage quality [GIS-18] and high forage quality is essential if a lactating dairy quality forage is desired.
